Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
- If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address so we can tell you when PennyPal opens. That's all we collect.
- We only email you about PennyPal, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
- We never sell your email or share it for marketing.
- Want it deleted? Email hello@pennypal.co.nz.
Who we are
PennyPal is a cash-flow calendar for households, not yet open to the public. PennyPal ("we", "us") is an independent project based in Auckland, New Zealand.
We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. For anything about your information, contact hello@pennypal.co.nz.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we store:
- your email address;
- the date you joined, whether we've sent you our welcome email, and whether you've unsubscribed.
That's it. This website has no accounts, no cookies and no analytics or tracking.
How we use it
To send you a welcome email, and to let you know when PennyPal opens to you, along with occasional news about PennyPal. We don't use your email for anything else, we never sell it, and we never share it with anyone for their marketing.
Who helps us
- Cloudflare runs this website and stores the waitlist.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this website, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads.
These are US companies, so your email may be stored or processed outside New Zealand. We use providers that protect personal information in ways comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until PennyPal opens to you, until you unsubscribe, or until you ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date you opted out, so we never email you again. If you'd like it removed completely, just ask.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@pennypal.co.nz and we'll respond within 20 working days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS) and only we can access the waitlist. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.
Changes
When the PennyPal app opens, we'll update this policy to cover it and let everyone on the waitlist know.
